Estremoz Marble

Product Description

Marble of Estremoz is the name given to a type of marble extracted from the region of Alentejo, in Portugal. The term is derived from the municipality of Estremoz but the exploration is also distributed in the boroughs of Borba and Vila Viçosa, especially the latter.
The marble of Estremoz has been explored since the time when the Iberian Peninsula was incorporated into the Roman Empire. Marble analyzes of monuments such as the Roman Temple of Évora, for example, indicated that it was built with Alentejo marble.
